The Church Alley Trail (trailhead connector) is the starting point of the 3.2 mile bicycle trail through both the National Register Downtown Commercial Historic District that includes 123 buildings with 82 classified as contributing and 7 listed individually, and the National Register Residential District that encompasses New Iberia's late-nineteenth and early-twentieth century residential homes. There are 71 homes in the district, most of which date from between c. 1890 and c. 1930.
