Iberia Parish Recreation (IREC)

14 parks featuring swimming pool, ball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, football and soccer fields, as well as playground equipment and numerous picnic and recreation areas. Summer camps and organized competitive sports for children and adults available. Facility rentals.  

PJ Allain Waterfront Park and Sculptural Garden

Sun-Sat 6AM-7PM. Waterfront park with landing on Bayou Teche. Pump-out and public restroom facilities accessible by water at no charge. Site of the New Iberia shipwreck and sculpture garden. Walking distance to New Iberia National Register Historic District shops, attractions, restaurants and nightlife.  

Lake Fausse Pointe State Park

Daily. Admission. Beautiful park located adjacent to America’s largest river swamp, the Atchafalaya Basin. Primitive, glamping and RV campsites, cabins, picnic tables and pavilions, splash pad, fishing, nature trails, boat and canoe rentals.  

Bayou Teche National Water and Paddle Trail

Bayou Teche runs 135 miles from Port Barre to Ber­wick through St. Landry, St. Martin, Iberia and St. Mary parishes and is easily accessed from several state highways and Interstate 10. Cypremort Point State Park

Sun-Thurs 7AM-9PM; Fri-Sat 7AM-10PM. Admission. Gateway to the Gulf of Mexico on the shores of Vermillion Bay. Great spot for boating, swimming, picnicking, fishing and birding. Beach, kayak and boat launch (kayak rentals available). Five unimproved tent sites and six cabins available by reservation.
