
Step into a world of holiday wonder to celebrate the launch of newly published, A Stir of Imagination: Let’s Bake a Cake, and the start of The Frosted Apron’s children’s book series.
This family fun event is free to attend, and will be held at Rip Van Winkle Gardens (5505 Rip Van Winkle Rd., New Iberia) inside the Bayless event center on Sun., Nov. 30, from 2 to 4 p.m.
More than a book launch, this is a magical Christmas gathering filled with festive cheer, a sweet story, and the opportunity for families to make sweet memories together. Join them for a special evening where the spirit of the season and the magic of a story come together.
Activities for the Day:
Meet the author, Stacey Dempsey, and the illustrator, Lexi Renard, who will be signing copies of their newly released children’s book. Books will be sold on-site, but feel free to bring your copy to be signed if you have already purchased one from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.
Get your wish list ready because Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to town for the celebration. Other free of charge fun will include face painting by Baskin Robbins (New Iberia location), a cupcake bar by Fudge It Bakery, create your own book cover craft by The Frosted Apron, and complimentary refreshments will be served.
Project RISE and the Iberia Parish Rabies & Animal Control Shelter will be handing out coloring sheets from the featured book. Kids can come dressed as their favorite book character for a chance to win a great prize.
This is a first-come, first-serve, available while supplies last public event. Please refrain from bringing outside food or drinks.
Cafe Jefferson will be open if you would like to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant before the event, and wrist bands can be purchased inside the gift shop if you and your family would like to explore the beautiful gardens. (Updated 11/11/25)
