Born out of the Galentine’s Day concept of women celebrating women on the day before Valentine’s Day, Hats Off to Moms will be celebrated on the day before Mother’s Day, on Sat. May 10 from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at The Main Cup (101 N. Main St., Loreauville).
The event offers a day to acknowledge and appreciate the diverse roles and relationships of mothers. Enjoy a day out ahead of the holiday at The Main Cup and allow Mother’s Day itself to be reserved for more traditional celebrations with family.
There will be brunch, a live auction and fun games like handbag bingo, junk in the trunk and cookie face one-on-one competitions to win prizes of designer handbags, compliments of “Handbag Hosts” DeLucia Insurance, The Lafayette Town Planner, First National Bank of Jeanerette, Maison Teche Nursing Home, Village Pharmacy & Wellness and David and Hope Hebert.
Hats Off to Moms Brunch:
The brunch is $30 and will include a special “Gather & Graze” buffet with a loaded charcuterie board, salad bar, several quiches, bakery goodies and more. Seating is limited and attendees can sign up with pre-paid reservations.
Also available for purchase are a wide variety of specialty coffee/tea selections crafted by The Main Cup baristas, as well as a “BYOB – Bring Your Own Bubbly” beverage package. There will be lots of door prize drawings and everyone will receive a goodie bag.

- Best Decorated Hat (themed or otherwise)
- Best-Dressed (overall)
- Best-Bedazzled Purse

Live Auction:
After playing games and voting for favorites, there will be an onsite live auction featuring items such as a custom hat from the collection of Colby Hébert, The Cajun Hatter; a private 2 – hour Lake Martin kayak experience for two from Wanderlust Rentals; a “Get Away Close to Home Package” including a two-night weekend stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites – New Iberia, VIP dinner for two with wine and flowers from Café Sydnie Mae in Breaux Bridge, and a weekend brunch for two at Church Alley Café & Bistro in New Iberia.
100% of the proceeds from the auction will benefit The Unexpected Pregnancy Center of New Iberia, who will also receive a donated portion of the buffet ticket price.
