The Shadows-on-the-Teche would like to announce the ninth annual Farm Fest! This family-friendly event will take place on Thurs., Sept. 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. on the grounds of The Shadows (317 E. Main St., New Iberia).
“Farm Fest is one of our favorite traditions of the year. It’s a chance for families to come out, enjoy the grounds, have fun, and make memories together,” said Dr. Adam Foreman, executive director at The Shadows.
What to Expect:
After entering the festival grounds, attendees can enjoy a variety of games from old-fashioned carnival ones to Farm Fest staples, like Magic Fishing and the Rubber Duck Pull. Visit The Frosted Apron to decorate a donut and have your copy of Stacey Dempsey’s children’s books signed by the author. Stop in at the art tent for face painting and crafting.
What’s Farm Fest without a petting zoo? This year, The Shadows is excited to welcome back Rylan’s Ranch Petting Zoo. Attendees will get a chance to see baby goats, baby pigs, fluffy chickens, ducks, and rabbits. Balloon animals are back as well this year.
Attendees can enjoy burgers, hot dogs, Chili Fritos, and other festival fare along with cold beverages, including beer and wine. Live entertainment will be on the stage during the entire event. 2NL Jazz Combo will play from 4 to 6 p.m. and Andy Smith will play from 6 to 8 p.m.
Cost:
Admission is $10 per family. Tickets for food and games are available for purchase. Minors must be accompanied by adults. Games stop at 7 p.m.
