Great Southern Writer Symposium

The 2026 Great Southern Writer is Rick Bragg. The Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and acclaimed author, joins moderator Jan Risher to illuminate the heart, history, and craft of Southern storytelling.  

Swamp Sounds: A Swamp Pop Revival

The evening kicks off with Cajun dance lessons led by Britlyn Delahoussaye, followed by a Cajun dance competition. At the same time, the Grammy-nominated Revelers provide live music starting at 6:30 pm, including a selection of songs in French that honor Louisiana’s rich Francophone heritage.  

A Novel Evening

A first-ever happy hour with the authors under the moss-draped live oak trees will provide a more relaxed atmosphere to converse with festival authors. New Iberia Halloween Parade

Join the City of New Iberia in front of city hall when they color the fountain black before parading down Main Street for Halloween! Parade will begin at Prairie St. and end at Railroad St. There will be a trunk-or-treat in Bouligny Plaza, and live performance at 6 p.m., following the parade.
