Shadows-on-the-Teche received a record number 61 applicants from 15 states and the Philippines for the Shadows-on-the-Teche Plein Air Painting Competition, now in its fourth year.

As part of our "Why Visit" series, we spoke to Marketing and Programs Manager Jayd Buteaux to get an insider's look at Shadows-on-the-Teche, a 19th century sugar plantation owned by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the heart of New Iberia's Historic District.

The Bayou Teche Museum in New Iberia is excited to announce the unveiling of an exhibit of original art by internationally recognized artist, Hunt Slonem. "Bayou, Birds and Butterflies" will feature several paintings from Slonem's Albania plantation home in Jeanerette, as well as some from other museums and private collections.

The Jeanerette Museum is turning 40 this year!
