Bayou Teche Museum, New Iberia

The Bayou Teche Museum in New Iberia is excited to announce the unveiling of an exhibit of original art by internationally recognized artist, Hunt Slonem.
"Bayou, Birds and Butterflies" will feature several paintings from Slonem's Albania plantation home in Jeanerette, as well as some from other museums and private collections.

Hunt Slonem is best known for his neo-expressionist style. His work has been exhibited in more than 350 galleries and museums worldwide and is represented in over 100 museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim and the Whitney in New York City.

The unveiling will take place on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016 after a lecture presented by the artist himself at 6 p.m. at the Sliman Theatre, located at 129 E. Main St. in New Iberia, La.  Refreshments will be served. A limited number of tickets are available at the museum for $25 per person. The installation will hang in the Bayou Teche Museum until Dec. 1, 2016.
